Everard Read London are delighted to announce Phillemon Hlungwani's upcoming exhibition: Rirhandzu Ra Manana/The Love of Women.

Hlungwani's celebration of women is dedicated to the supportive figures in his life. The everyday scenes, often set in the rural towns or landscapes north of Johannesburg where he spent his youth, are duty-bound to his respect for women's vital role in the community. Each scene is highly personal and at the same time typical of his environment.

A highly skilled draughtsman, Hlungwani's charcoals give visual form to his ideas on culture, the everyday, the self, and familial history.

The show runs untill the 11th of November 2017.
